Mystic Monday: a new year! 🎉

Some recommendations and an intention for the year ahead

Happy Monday, Gems! I wanted to get the video of this morning’s Substack Live out to you much earlier, but alas, I am caught in the vortex in-between the spring breaks of two of my kiddos. Dacey was home last week and is now back at FSU, and Niko is home this week. I’ll give you one guess as to who causes more chaos around here!

Thank you for your graciousness as I continue to play around with these Lives. Today, I tried a new mic! I don’t think I like the result at all! LOL I was also going to publish the unedited transcript of what I said but reading it back gave me a headache, and I didn’t want to wish that upon my favorites.

So ICYMI, here is the cleaned-up summary of what I shared in this week’s Mystic Monday:

Good morning and happy Monday! I'm Meg Tietz from Gemini Wrongs on Substack. Today, I'm trying out one of those cute little handheld mics for this Live. If you can see me but can’t hear me, please let me know! I tested it, and it seemed to be working, so fingers crossed.

Happy Monday and Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I think this might be my only green shirt, but I’m wearing it to avoid any pinches from my kids or out in public. I titled this Mystic Monday—oh, thank you, Kristen! Kristen just gave me a thumbs up for the sound. Yay, I did it! I feel like one of those Gen Z TikTokers with their mics. I like experimenting with this kind of stuff, so let's see how it goes!

I’m hiding in my bathroom today because it's the start of my five-year-old Niko’s spring break, and there is absolute chaos outside my bedroom door. I didn't want to miss Mystic Monday, though, so here we are! Speaking of Niko, something happened this morning that I wanted to share.

He was out in the yard playing with his new basketball from school, hitting it with a stick (as one does). Inevitably, it went over the neighbor’s fence. I don’t know how long he was outside worrying about it, but eventually, he came in crying. He thought the ball was gone forever. I told him, "Let’s go look." Sure enough, it was just over the fence in our neighbor Ms. Alejandra’s yard. I said, "We’ll go ask if we can get it back."

When we went outside, Ms. Alejandra was just about to leave. I quickly said, "Good morning! Niko’s ball went into your yard, can we grab it?" She smiled and said, "Of course! The gate's open, go get it." And just like that, problem solved!

It struck me as such a simple but powerful moment. To Niko, losing the ball felt like the end of the world. But from my perspective, I knew the solution was easy. How often do we, as adults, get caught up in feeling like something is lost forever when, really, we just need to ask for help? Sometimes the solution is just on the other side of the fence.

If you’re just joining, hello and happy Monday! I asked a question in the comments: do you have a word, phrase, or idea you’re holding onto for the week ahead? For me, I’m thinking about how we’re at the end of the astrological year. The spring equinox is coming up on Thursday, and I’ll talk more about that in a few minutes when we get to our Oracle card reading. My phrase for this week is All things are made new. I want to finish this zodiac year well and step into the new one with strong intentions.

If you have a word or phrase for the week, drop it in the comments! Or, if you’re reading this transcript later, feel free to reflect on it. I know a lot of you appreciate having the transcript, and I love that it’s helpful!

Now, astrologically speaking, 2025 continues to bring fast-moving, chaotic energy. One of my favorite astrologers, Pam Gregory, talks about this a lot. I’ll link to her latest video in the post. The energy is only intensifying as we move through the end of March, so it’s crucial to focus on grounding practices—whether that’s meditation, getting your feet on the earth, touching trees, or even using a grounding mat if you’re somewhere cold.

If you’re looking for meditation resources, I recommend searching for Root Chakra Meditations on YouTube. The external chaos isn’t going away anytime soon, but we can strengthen ourselves internally.

Speaking of meditation, I want to mention something I’ve been loving. The Monroe Institute (known for the Gateway Experience and binaural beats) has an app called Expand. It’s $11.99/month, which is a bit pricey for an app, but the meditations are phenomenal. This morning, I did one on finding stillness within, and it was one of the most powerful meditations I’ve ever done. If you’re looking for something new, I highly recommend checking it out. I’ll link to it in the notes.

Alright, let’s talk about the start of Aries season! We are closing out the last few days of Pisces season and stepping into a fresh start. If you’ve been craving a reset, this is the perfect time. I asked Spirit to guide us with a collective Oracle card reading for this new astrological year.

I’m still using Love Your Inner Goddess by Alana Fairchild, which has been my go-to deck. Eventually, I may bring in another deck, but for now, this one speaks to me.

The card I pulled for us today is Gypsy (card #3).

Now, this term isn’t widely used anymore, but let’s focus on the message. The guidebook says:

You are encouraged to say YES to new opportunities and adventures, ideas and connections. Especially the ones that fill your heart with a sense of excitement (perhaps just before your mind begins to dwell on doubts and concerns, trying to talk you out of something before you even give it a chance.)

You can handle the unfamiliar better than most. Once you get your bearings, you’ll find a way to thrive, to enjoy what you discover and experience. Let the yearning of your soul to explore the new and exciting inspire you. The unfamiliar and the unknown hold great blessings for you. Open yourself up to new horizons.

Even though I wasn’t expecting this card, the message feels perfect. This is a time for new beginnings, stepping into the unknown, and saying yes before we overthink. It’s about embracing fresh energy as we move into the new year with the spring equinox on Thursday and Aries season kicking off.

So that’s our Mystical Monday! I’ll post this with the video and transcript later for those who couldn’t join Live. If you’re reflecting on the past year, take some time to journal about what shifted, what changed, and what you’re looking forward to in the year ahead. Thank you for spending this time with me—I’m sending you all warmth, love, and encouragement to embrace the new! See you next time!

Please do share any intentions or guiding thoughts that you have for the new season we will enter this week. I would love to hear what is stirring up in your heart!

It’s time to end the St. Patrick Day pinches but we’re not ready to have that conversation,

Meg
