Oh hello, my beautiful Gems!
I know it has been a hot minute since I was able to sit and share with all of you (although if you are a supporting member of Gem Collective, make sure you didn’t miss this month’s card reading - truly one of my favorites that I’ve done yet!).
This past weekend, I got to return to my beloved OKC to officiate the wedding of my dear friend Grace and her incredible new husband Chris. Yes, you guys! They trusted me to create and share the ceremony celebrating them officially uniting their lives and the lives of their families, and as someone who got to witness the unfolding of their love story in real time, I cannot even begin to tell you what a magical, mystical, memorable experience it was.
Although there are so many moments I will keep forever tucked away in my heart from the weekend, I feel kind of private and protective of most of it because it was all so deeply personal and intimate, and so much of it belongs to Grace and Chris. I will say, however, that it really stood out to me that there are so many more of us1 who are on this post-religious/embracing new modes of spirituality path than I ever could allow myself to imagine! It seemed like everywhere I turned, there was tangible evidence of this huge shift that is happening as people slip, step, or stomp away from religion and also continue to seek and explore the Divine.
We’re out there, y’all!

In addition to preparing for the wedding, I’ve been up to my eyeballs in turbo-charged astrology discoveries as I’ve worked my way through so many birth charts via my Spiritual Discovery Packages. I think, eat, sleep, and breathe natal placements these days to the point where I’ve said more than once in the past few weeks, unironically and completely earnestly, “gah, I would love to look at their chart!”
Early on in my work with people and their Big Six placements, I had the idea to keep a spreadsheet of placements. I love patterns, and I had a feeling there would be some patterns formed around who was motivated to have a reading done with me.
One of the first patterns that leapt off the page (er, cells?) was how many Cancer Moon placements have come up in these charts. My second-oldest child AJ is a Cancer Moon, so I’ve always been interested in this placement. I have a Gemini Moon, but it’s at the very final degree (29 degrees)2 of Gemini, so I am almost a Cancer Moon myself, and I identify deeply with a lot of its themes.
Our lovely, maternal, always-changing Moon is at home in Cancer. Only Cancer and Leo get to claim our luminaries as home (the sun is at home in Leo). In astrology, our Moon signs give us insights into our inner world of our emotions, and it’s not uncommon for people to identify most strongly with their moon signs out of all of their placements because this is the placement that feels most authentic, real, and known to us. It represents who we are without any masks or public persona or ego involved.
Cancer is the cardinal water sign ruled by the Moon, and its known for its fierce protectiveness, strong maternal nature, and undeniable intuition. Cancer Moons are some of the most naturally intuitive people you will ever meet. These are people who can walk into a room and sense the energy immediately. Is someone frustrated? Did these two people just have a fight? Who here is feeling delighted? They perceive the energy immediately, and you can imagine that this placement can feel like a blessing and a curse!
I think it’s no coincidence that Cancer Moon people are intensely interested not only in understanding others, but also crave a deeper understanding of themselves which might explain why so many of the people I’ve done chart readings for so far are Cancer Moons.
But they aren’t the only ones with intuition-rich placements! I’ve been learning more about placements that make for a natural-born mystic or psychic-coded people. Think Luna Lovegood3 in all the best ways:
Pisces placements: as a sign, Pisces embodies the intuitive, the imaginal, and the dreamy. Piscean energy allows a person to see the unseen as something that is very real and seen. Piscean energy is magic, and these are people that are particularly gifted in being able to taking something kind of fuzzy and nebulous and focusing it into something more tangible and understandable.
Dominant water signs: something I include in every chart reading that I do is telling you your dominant planet, dominant element, and signature sign (if you have one, not everyone has a signature sign). The elements are earth, air, fire, and water, and people with water sign dominance are naturally mystical and intuitive. These are people have been labeled “sensitive” and even “psychic” by others (and probably experience themselves this way even if no one else labels them that), because water energy is deeply associated with emotions and connections in life that are rich in emotional resonance. You can see how this would lead to a level of intuition that feels quite mystical!
12th House placements: one of the best areas of discovery for me as I have worked with people in understanding their Big Six placements is learning more about the Houses in astrology. Briefly, if when looking at a chart, we use the metaphor of watching a play, the planets are the actors, the signs are the characters they play, and the houses are the settings where the action of the play takes place. The 12th House is ruled by Pisces and is the House of the Unconscious. It’s one of the hidden houses, and it represents the things that are hidden even to ourselves. (I heard one astrologer say that the 8th House is like the basement of inner worlds. It’s tucked out of sight from most people, it contains the themes you only share with people you trust won’t judge you for what’s in your basement or how disorganized it might be; the 12th House is the attic. You shove stuff up there over the years and you have absolutely no idea what you’ve even put up there!)
Planetary placements in this House give an energy of solitude and escape, of living so deeply in imagination that you can bend the rules of reality, of experiencing no rules or restrictions on spirituality. You can see how this would give big MYSTIC energy!Prominent Neptune placement: Neptune is the planet of dreams, spiritual connections, and dimensions above and outside of the 3D. There are certain houses where a Neptune placement might have a significant impact on the energy in your chart. For example, Neptune in the 1st House - the House of Self - may indicate that your whole identify and understanding of yourself are influenced by Neptune’s dreamy, mysterious, intuitive energy. Neptune in the 10th House - the House of Public Image or Career - might mean that you are able to tap into Neptune’s intuitive gifts and find success in a career as a professional psychic or energy healer. Neptune in the 12th House might mean that you have a natural connection to all things spiritual, the hidden realms, and a desire to help others in this area.
(Guess who has Neptune in the 12th house?! YOUR GIRL RIGHT HERE!!!)
Okay, I have written way way way more about this than I intended to today, but honestly, you are getting a little peek into what it’s like to talk to me IRL right now. I just cannot shut up about what I’m learning and how it unlocks so much understanding about ourselves and the energy that we bring to this life!
After today, my Spiritual Discovery Packages queue will be wide open, so if you’ve been thinking you want to gift yourself a Big Six reading, it’s a great time to get one booked!
Okay, one last thing. I was bummed to miss sharing an oracle message with the Collective last week, but the ramp-up to leaving town for the weekend combined with working on chart readings meant I just wasn’t able to get to it.
In honor of last night’s Strawberry Full Moon in Sagittarius, I asked Spirit to help me draw a card for the whole Collective that would be absolutely delicious. That was the word that kept coming to mind as I meditated before drawing for you - I wanted a card that was fresh and delicious in its message!
Here’s what Spirit brought forth:
And though I usually share the card’s message from the “in a reading” section of the Love Your Inner Goddess book, today I feel led to share what is written for Soul Sisters’s message for “spiritual guidance.” Do with that what you will:
“Some relationships nourish your soul, whilst others damage it. A nourishing relationship has an effect on your soul, just like nourishing food does on your body - it makes you feel good, increases your energy to live your life, and enhances your wellbeing. Healthy relationships for your soul are those that uplift, inspire, and help you become more of yourself with fearlessness. They do not drag your spirit down with anxiety and confusion.
Some people may love you, but just not know how to be in a relationship with you that is healthy for your soul. With such people, you will either need to show them how to be in your life in a soul-loving way, or take extra special care of yourself when you are around them. Sometimes, this will not be enough to protect you from the negative influence of the relationship, and you will need to walk away. this can be sad, yet it also creates space for your soulmates to enter your life.
These are the people with whom you share a deep and real connection. You love each other in a way that frees you to be yourselves. We attract new soulmates into our world by being good to ourselves. Be your own best friend, first. Require respect in your relationships. Then you will find it easy to recognize the people who genuinely love you, and invite them into your heart.”
I know someone out there needed to hear that message today! It was, indeed, the first time I’ve ever drawn that card, so the message is fresh and perfectly timed with the full moon which always invites us to do inventory and release that which is holding us back!
This was a lot! Thank you for reading, as I obviously had built up a lot that needed to be shared!
Speaking of sharing, if you know someone who needs to hear one of the messages I shared today, please do hit Share on this post. It’s a wonderfully generous way to support my work at Gemini Wrongs, and it is, of course, F R E E to you!
I hope so much that Gemini season is treating you well! Also, everyone’s favorite planetary Sugar Daddy Jupiter4 has moved into Cancer, so check where Cancer is in your chart to see where you might like to draw on Jupiter’s big lucky, much expansive energy!
Wrapping you up in a big hug please don’t mind the lingering scent of pool chlorine and aloe vera gel,
Meg
obligatory “tomorrow there’ll be more of us!” because the #Hamilten performance at the Tonys has seriously stoked the undying ember of my love for Hamilton, a flame which never dies
29 degree placements is one of three placements considered “critical degrees” in a natal chart, with 0 being the first, 15 being the middle, and 29 being the final. A placement at one of these critical degrees means that the aspects of that sign’s energy will be amplified.
I’ve been thinking about Luna Lovegood a lot because I am finishing up reading a 200K word fic that just published that’s an alternate to HP and the Deathly Hallows where when Dobby rescues Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Dean, Ollivander, and Griphook from Malfoy Manor, he grabs Draco as well. I have so much to say about this fic because it’s impossibly incredible - like maybe the best I’ve ever read in ten years of reading fan fiction - but I’m saving that for its own post. But Luna as a character is so, so important and plays such a huge role in the story that she’s been on my mind a lot, especially while I was crying on the plane while I read!
I wish I could take credit for labeling Jupiter as the Sugar Daddy but alas, it was Kate Forster on TikTok!
I love that watercolor painting. Your depiction has a flourish!
That watercolour painting! It's amazing... there's no faces and yet it's clearly you and it says so much about that moment. Wow, that's talent.
